Maine Treasury_West 07282008

I'm in this treasury today - top row left. I think I also have an alternate item as there were both gold and silver stars in the list!

Here's the URL - good for a day or so:

Freeform Knit and Crochet Class

It's always fun to try out a new creative technique and this class was no exception. There was a homework assignment before attending the class; that was to make numerous little items called "scrumbles". I made as many as time permitted, fell short of having enough to completely cover the foundation fabric, but now know how to proceed to do it here at home.

This photo at the top of this post is of my WIP. It will ultimately, when I have time to finish, be a clutch purse with a flap.
Here are a couple of shots of the inspirational works of our instructor, Margaret Hubert:

Shameless Self-Promotion Day!!

New Eco-Friendlier Photo Presentation Product:

Well, today I launched my new product – Jewel Of A ReUse – using an empty, recycled CD case to hold a picture that can be wall or table art. Hope you’ll click here to take a gander, only one posted so far, but more are on the way.

Etsy Treasury Inclusion:

I was also one of the members included in a POE treasury today. The image chosen was my Mini Fenway Park – I’m very excited. The treasury is the Photographers of Etsy Showcase. Treasuries only last a couple of days, this one will expire on Wednesday 2:34 PM July 16. I’ve got a screen capture of it here on Flickr.

I am feeling very blessed that these events occurred at all, and doubly so since they are on the same day.

Peace to all, Judi

F O C S dot COM

Last night I attended an a cappella rock concert by the group Five O’Clock Shadow at TCAN in Natick. A rip-roaring time was had by all.

I’ve been a fan since I first heard and saw them perform around 1995. They weren’t quite so much rock as folk back then; only one of those group members is still part of the “band” – Dan.

The style of music may have changed, but the energy has not. Paul, Oren, Caleb, Dan, and the infamous “Stack” (David Stackhouse), will keep your toes tapping, hands clapping, and fingers snapping – literally – throughout the show.

They perform covers as well as original music and the only instruments they use are their vocal cords. Stack is mostly the “percussion” guy wearing a throat mike as well as a second one at his mouth; his antics should not be missed. All 5 of them have great singing voices, each with his own style.

I hope you have a chance to hear and see them perform, but at the very least check out their myspace page or web site for a taste of the fun.

Above video from a reunion concert last year, also at TCAN.

Exciting News

Today was my in-laws anniversary. They must have been looking out for me from wherever their souls have gone in the universe because:

1. I was the featured artist on The Organic Mechanic today; hope you have a chance to check it out.

2. I'm one of the featured photographers on Talent Database.

This is just too exciting. Thank you whoever or whatever decided to bless me in this way today.

Peace, Judi
