Rieger Begonia

This plant was the centerpiece on the table at my friends' mother's 90th birthday party. No one else at the table wanted it, so I won! I love begonias, and this one is such a gorgeous color. Thanks friends!

It's so wonderful that all of the spring flowers are going strong, and thank goodness it's getting warmer. Hope it's nice where you live, too!

Peace, Judi

Spring Melange

Unfurling ferns, bleeding heart, and crabapple all growing in my own yard. I couldn't choose one so put them all together here for your enjoyment. What a great time of year this is!

Peace to all,
Judi

Hya Cinthia

This amazing hyacinth was living in my yard and enjoying the sunshine.

I was dressed too nicely to get down on my knees or stomach, so I took a few shots holding the camera below my site line. I love how this one turned out with the flower cropped so closely and all the lovely bokeh in the background. I hope you like it too!

The sun is shining again today and the temps are supposed to be in the 70s, time for more outdoor shooting.

Peace, Judi

Three's Company

These 3 white narcissus are growing right in my front yard. So happy I could extend their beauty past their life.

On another note, many of you know that I don't eat meat or poultry, and only the occasional bit of seafood. There are so many reasons for this that I won't bore you with them now.

With my diet in mind, I am always on the lookout for the latest news in the American diet and related topics. There's a movie going to air on PBS's POV called Food Inc. You can watch a short piece of it here:
http://video.pbs.org/video/1402965302

I've seen a few more scenes from it than in this short trailer, and you don't have to be vegetarian or vegan or pescetarian to appreciate what this film has to convey.

It's a real eye-opener to where our food comes from and who is controlling what we have available to us. I hope you'll watch the film when it airs on your local PBS station and then take action with your grocery dollars by only buying what is good and healthy for us all.

OK, I'm stepping off my soapbox now. Happy weekend!

Peace, Judi
