Girlfriends
A group of 15-year-old girlfriends discussed where to meet for dinner.
Finally, they agreed to meet at the Dairy Queen next to the Ocean View Restaurant because they had only $6.00 among them and Jimmy Johnson, the cute boy in Social Studies, lived on that street.
10 years later, the group of 25-year-old girlfriends discussed where to
meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Ocean View Restaurant
because the beer was cheap, the restaurant offered free snacks, the band was
good, there was no cover and there were lots of cute guys.
10 years later, the group of 35-year-old girlfriends discussed where to
meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Ocean View Restaurant
because the cosmos were good, it was right near the gym and, if they went
late enough, there wouldn't be too many whiny little kids.
10 years later, the group of 45-year-old girlfriends discussed where to
meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Ocean View Restaurant
because the martinis were big and the waiters had tight pants and nice buns.
10 years later, the group of 55-year-old girlfriends discussed where to
meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Ocean View Restaurant
because the prices were reasonable, the wine list was good, the restaurant
had windows that opened (in case of a hot flashes), and fish is good for cholesterol.
10 years later, the group of 65-year-old girlfriends discussed where to
meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Ocean View Restaurant
because the lighting was good and the restaurant had an early bird special.
10 years later, the group of 75-years-old girlfriends discussed where to
meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Ocean View Restaurant
because the food was not too spicy and the restaurant was handicapped-accessible.
10 years later, the group of 85-years-old girlfriends discussed where to
meet for dinner. Finally, they agreed to meet at the Ocean View Restaurant
because they had never been there before.

Feature Friday - loosepetals on Etsy
Hey, it's Friday. That means it's time to feature a shop with cool stuff, but has not yet had a sale. This week's shop is loosepetals.
From the shop's announcement, here's a description of what's available: "... modern prints and cards designed by the founder Karen Jean Young, greeting card artist for the national gift industry. Printed on a textured eco-friendly stock, each print combines striking color palettes and imagery, including quotes, custom baby announcements, and a rainbow of botanicas."
I love San Francisco, and especially the Golden Gate Bridge, so when this item, 8x10 SF Golden Gate Bridge, popped up during a recent Pounce session, it was an immediate winner.
I hope you are enjoying these features, and have found some new shops to HEART and objects to covet.
Peace, Judi

MFA Orchid
This lovely flower decorated a hallway at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, MA, during a visit in 2008. I love the delicate stripes on the petals, how about you?
If you're interested in buying a print, you'll find it available here in my Etsy shop.

Feature Friday - gumo on Etsy
Today's featured shop is gumo.
The work can best be described by quoting part of the shop's announcement:
"Creative Gifts ♥ Cute Animal Alphabet Prints ♥ Alphabet Letters with Fun Poems for Kids
gumo is the perfect place to find creative art prints for kids of all ages : )
Our prints are created from original hand drawn illustrations and printed using vegetable based inks, onto high quality 250gsm matt heavyweight 100% recycled paper. "
I love this giraffe print - anyone that knows me even remotely is aware of my love for giraffes - so it had to be the featured item! ;-)
I hope you have a chance to check out this shop and all of those I've featured in this series.
Peace, Judi

A Humorous Lesson
While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him.
As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was.
The dung was actually thawing him out!
He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy. A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate.
Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.
Morals of the story:
(1) Not everyone who sh*ts on you is your enemy.
(2) Not everyone who gets you out of sh*t is your friend.
(3) And when you're in deep sh*t, it's best to keep your mouth shut!
