More Digital Fun

Hello and welcome (back) to my blog.

I've been continuing on the theme of taking an original photograph and modifying it digitally to create a new piece of art.

Some lovely morning glory blossoms are the inspiration:

And here's one of the results:

And here's another:

Next up, a single daffodil is the starting point:

And one of the modifications produced this:

But the one above didn't make the cut for use anywhere, however, the one below did:

Moving away from flowers for a bit, this mountainous, velvet work called to me:

Which resulted in this:

I'd love to hear what you think about any/all of these images and the transformations!

Peace for all, Judi

How I Spent My Summer - 2014

Recently I have been doing lots of digital "play" with my images. Below are a couple of examples of the progression of this fun.

Original Agave Image

Image cropped and manipulated - ready to repeat.

And the repeating pattern that results!

The above was the first. I loved the result so much I have gone on to create several more - and planning to keep going!

Original Rose Image

Image cropped and manipulated - ready to repeat.

Not only repeating, but manipulated further for a fun addition to clothing products.

I had a lot of fun this summer, how about you?

Peace for all,
Judi

Glendalough, County Wicklow, Ireland, March 13, 2014

"Glendalough is home to one of the most important monastic sites in Ireland. This early Christian monastic settlement was founded by St. Kevin in the 6th century and from this developed the “Monastic City”." - from the Glendalough website

Gleann Dá Loch, meaning "glen of two lakes", is south of Dublin in County Wicklow. It is renowned for its Early Medieval monastic settlement founded in the 6th century by St Kevin, a hermit priest, and partly destroyed in 1398 by English troops.

More info can be found here.

City Hall Ballroom, Belfast, Northern Ireland, March 12, 2014

City Hall Tour 12

The ballroom is being prepared for the next event. The gorgeous architecture of this building still amazes me; this room is no exception.

O'Connell's Tower

Via Flickr:
www.glasnevintrust.ie/

Our flight from Boston to Dublin first of all was overnight and then delayed by over 3 hours due to mechanical issues with the plane before it left Ireland; fortunately all of that was fixed. We left at 1:30AM, so no pics of the the flight.

After pickup at Dublin airport, the bus drove us to Glasnevin Cemetery where we had breakfast/lunch in the museum's cafe, then toured the cemetery.

Burial place of Daniel O'Connell, this is the tower that tops his tomb. Many other famous and influential Irish people are buried in the cemetery.

See my set on Flickr as it is now, and come back often to see what I've added.

HWW!

Went to the Dale Chihuly glass sculpture exhibit at the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix yesterday (Feb 11). Got some decent shots considering the crowds and less than perfect light conditions.

Here is the first from the DSLR - taken just outside the entrance to DBG.

Peace for all,

I'm in my new old house, lots of unpacking and finding homes for everything still to go.

This little quote has been with me for over 25 years. Hmm, where shall it live in this house?

Peace for all!
