An inspirational quote: “Nothing is easier than being busy, and nothing more difficult than being effective.”
-- Alec MacKenzie, time-management expert
2/2, now known as Groundhog Day, is actually the midpoint of the winter quarter of the year. The pagens call this day Imbolc. The day was/is used to forecast the following six weeks, just as Puxatawny Phil is used now - by the weather backwards. A clear day would indicate 6 more weeks of winter weather - like Phil seeing his shadow. The best part of this is no matter the weather, we are more than halfway to spring - yippee!
2/7 is Chinese New Year this year. We are about to enter the year of the rat. The date is determined by the second new moon following winter solstice - again, close to halfway through winter.
If you missed making resolutions or just haven't kept the ones you made at the Gregorian new year - why not make them now; anytime is a good time to decide to make your life better.
Amen! Love the randomness in this post but it is all tied together by the fact that spring is just around the corner...like you said YIPPEE!!!!
