MFA, Boston, and Scutra, Arlington, MA

Just wanted to make a quick update and let everyone know about the wonderful, delicious meals a friend and I had at Scutra, a restaurant in Arlington, MA, on Thursday evening.

First, we attended the Titian, Tintoretto, Veronese exhibit at the MFA Boston. Although not the type of art I would hang on my walls, it was all incredibly beautiful. These three men were extraordinarily talented with oil paint and brush. To think it is nearly 500 years for most of these works to have survived blows my mind. The exhibit is on until mid-August. If you are in the area, I hope you have a chance to see if for yourself.

Then it was time for dinner. Scutra has been in place for many years now, even expanded some time back, but for some reason I had never tried it. I'm sorry I waited so long.

Monday through Thursday they offer a special 3-course prix fixe dinner: choice of an appetizer, main course, and dessert. They also offer the regular dinner menu. We both chose the special - each had salad, my friend chose chicken marsala, I chose arctic char, and for dessert she chose bananas Foster in philo and I chose the chocolate tuxedo cake. We each had one drink, as well. I could not suitable describe these dishes. I say I had arctic char - but it had shrimp with it, sauce with lobster, wild rice, bok choy, and a flavor beyond description (at least by me.)

We were suitably filled but not overstuffed and loved our meals. So, I also recommend you try Scutra, if you are in the area.

A wonderful way to celebrate our birthdays!

Peace, Judi

You're the second one to recommend Scutra, Sharon & Bob love it too. looks like one of these nights Matt & I will have to get our butts down there! The exhibit sounds great too, that might be more of a challenge to get to but we shall see.

Good luck today, I know you will do awesome :)

The char sounds fantastic! We'll definitely have to try that out, seeing as we're only over in Watertown.
