Do You Kumihimo?

On Wednesday last, my friend, Eileen, told me she had signed up for a Kumihimo class at her local bead shop. When she described it to me, it sounded very interesting, so I signed up, too.

The little bracelet at the bottom of the pic is what I made. The spools of thread, called S-Lon, are what we used today to make it. The white circular thingy is the loom on which the weaving is done.

It was lots of fun, and we both signed up for the next version of the class where we will do more of the technique with beaded fibers. This will be in March - watch for the results on the first day of spring!

Peace to all, Judi

I have heard of it, but never tried it yet. I ordered and have a book, now waiting to get a loom. I love the look of the cording and can't wait to get started.

I have never heard of it! But I would love to try it. Something to do besides photography!

Marlene, it was much easier than I expected and have now learned there are many variations on it.

Cathy, it was so much fun and something to do in front of TV that takes less concentration than other fiber crafts.

PostGrad, I hope you give it a try.

Jenn, we did have fun. I'll try to remember to wear the bracelet on Saturday!
