Arlington's Central Fire House - 32:365

I live in this town, but somehow missed this "brilliant" idea that was proposed last fall here.
I found this article when I went looking for information about this historic/unusual building. I do believe it is the only octagonal fire house. This allows each engine its own door, thus making fire fighting equipment arrival as quick as possible.
I'll have to look into this further to see if this "plan" is still in the works - I sure hope not!
Sounds like it is time to move some place where the pols have more sense!

Peace, Judi

What a beautiful building and a great shot with the lamp in the foreground.

Thanks, Julie. The old buildings certainly are most interesting.

Thanks, Karen, much appreciated. Guess I tricked you a little; this is actually two shots blended together. The lamp can be seen next to the door near the lower right. It took several tries to get it to look just the way I wanted.

I just realized, the copyright symbol is sitting directly over the lamp on the building - silly me!
